The American Public Transportation Foundation’s Sixteenth Annual Benefit Golf Tournament was held at the beautiful Harding Park Golf Course in San Francisco on Tuesday, June 3. Linda Bohlinger, APTF Golf Tournament chair and avid golfer, served as the Mistress of Ceremonies for the golf awards presentation as well as golfer. The tournament raised approximately $50,000. Lea+Elliott, IBI and David Evans and Associates held a reception on Monday, June 2 in San Francisco during the APTA Rail Conference and in lieu of giving gifts to their guests, presented the APTF with a check for $1000. Dunk the Chief
Cap Metro in Austin, Texas hosted a "Dunk the Chief" fundraising event during APTA's 2008 Bus Conference. The event raised $1321 that was donated to the American Public Transportation Foundation. Click here for photos and more information.
Celebrating 20 Years: The American Public Transportation Foundation
In 1988, the APTF awarded its first scholarships to deserving young professionals pursuing careers in public transportation in order to sustain growth and improvement in the industry. To date, the APTF has awarded more than 100 scholarships. This is a growth industry and people are needed to support this growth and changes in the industry. Public transportation is an exciting profession with tremendous opportunities. We believe in building the next generation of leaders now and into the future.
