The winner of the Dream Package to Hawaii is Don Sullivan from Marietta, Georgia. The drawing raised $18,000. Proceeds benefit the APTF scholarship fund.

The American Public Transportation Foundation’s Sixteenth Annual Benefit Golf Tournament was held at the beautiful Harding Park Golf Course in San Francisco on Tuesday, June 3.  Linda Bohlinger, APTF Golf Tournament chair and avid golfer, served as the Mistress of Ceremonies for the golf awards presentation as well as golfer. The tournament raised approximately $50,000.  Click here for photos and more information.

Lea Elliot Team Lea+Elliott, IBI and David Evans and Associates held a reception on Monday, June 2 in San Francisco during the APTA Rail Conference and in lieu of giving gifts to their guests, presented the APTF with a check for $1000.  This is the second year these companies have joined together in support of the foundation. Cap Metro in Austin, Texas hosted a "Dunk the Chief" fundraising event during APTA's 2008 Bus Conference. The event raised $1321 that was donated to the American Public Transportation Foundation. Click here for photos and more information.

2007 APTF Scholarship Renewals
Congratulations to the 2007 recipients of renewal scholarships.  Based on the availability of funds, renewable scholarships are available for each year of the academic program provided the recipient maintains good standing in the approved field of study, is an active employee or participant in an internship program or educational program and is sponsored by an APTA member. Check Presented To The APTF
On Monday evening, June 5th in Toronto, in conjunction with APTA’s Rail Conference, the IBI Group, Lea+Elliott, and David Evans and Associates, Inc held an APTA 2007 Networking Party at the Pravda Vodka Bar. The 3 companies decided that in lieu of buying trinkets for the party guests, they combined the money and presented the foundation with a check for $1500. Bob Prince, APTF board chair, Stephanie Pinson and Linda Bohlinger accepted the check on behalf of the foundation. We would like to thank these 3 companies for supporting the American Public Transportation Foundation and encourage other companies to consider this when planning their next event.

Fifteenth Annual Benefit Golf Tournament
On Tuesday, June 5th, 107 players experienced the ultimate golfing challenge at the beautiful Royal Woodbine golf club in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, in support of the American Public Transportation Foundation’s 15th Annual Benefit Golf Tournament. Proceeds from the tournament fund scholarships for young professionals pursuing careers in public transportation. Click here for details.

AECOM and DMJM Harris Endow New Scholarship in Honor of Richard J. Bouchard
AECOM and DMJM Harris presented the APTF with a check for $50,000 in support of an endowed scholarship to honor Richard J. Bouchard. Bouchard served as the first chair of the American Public Transportation Foundation in 1988.
